Ukraine executed a remarkable and destructive assault on Russia's Black Sea Fleet, significantly damaging Putin's navy.
The Black Sea Fleet is based in Crimea, which Russia illegally annexed in 2014.
Throughout the ongoing conflict, Ukraine has successfully sunk several vessels from the fleet, including the flagship missile cruiser, Moskva.
Using a combination of missiles and drones, Kyiv's forces have effectively neutralized the threat from Putin's navy in the Black Sea, consistently delivering substantial blows to the fleet. This strategy has enabled Ukraine to maintain its commercial sea routes, allowing for the continued export of grain, a crucial revenue source for Kyiv's struggling government.
In a bold operation captured by onboard cameras, Ukrainian maritime drones attacked a Russian ship and boat storage facility in Crimea. In a frantic attempt to thwart the drones, Russia's military launched aircraft 32 times.
Footage shows the water drones facing heavy fire from a helicopter and missiles fired from the shore.
Despite the intense barrage, the drones hit their target, causing a massive explosion that lit up the night sky.
The attack destroyed four Russian KS-701 Tuna high-speed transport and landing boats, as well as two ferries, the Avangard and Conro Trader.
The KS-701 boats were used to help protect the Kerch bridge, a crucial supply route for Russian forces in southern Ukraine.
Adding to the setback, another Russian boat was destroyed in a separate strike the same night. The "Dream" pilot boat was hit by debris from a Ukrainian rocket that had been shot down by Russian air defenses.
The incident occurred at the Kerch ferry crossing. The falling debris caused the boat to crash and sink. However, the crew managed to escape without any reported injuries.
